Your application to study at the GSA is in two parts:

  • UCAS Application form
  • Digital portfolio and portfolio statement

UCAS Application
Application forms for 2024 entry should be submitted to UCAS online by Wednesday 31 January 2024.

Digital Portfolio
Applicants to all programmes (with the exception of Product Design Engineering) are to submit a digital portfolio by Wednesday 7 February 2024. Non-UK applicants will be invited to submit after their UCAS form is received. Completed applications are assessed on receipt, and can be made from 5 September 2023, so early submission is encouraged.

Please carefully review the Admissions Guides for the programmes you are applying to. You can submit your digital portfolio by submitting separate JPEG files or one PDF file. These can only be submitted via the GSA digital portfolio assessment site.

The exact number of files / PDF pages required are:

  • Architecture - 10
  • Design programmes - 15
  • Fine Art programmes - 20
  • Innovation and Technology programmes* - 10

Each JPEG file must not exceed 2MB. For PDF submissions, the page size must be set to A4 and the file size must not exceed 50MB in total. Please note, GSA cannot consider any more than the exact number of files / pages required for the programmes you are applying to. Please do not embed links to external sites within your JPEG files or PDF.

*This includes Product Design, Design for Health & Wellbeing, 3D Modelling and Games & VR. If applying to Sound for the Moving Image, links to 5 pieces of work are required.

Portfolio statement
In addition to your Digital Portfolio, you also need to submit a 500-word portfolio statement. Please see the Admissions Guides for the programmes you are applying to for information on what this should include.
